Ear Wax Removal

With the reduction of ear care services being offered by GP practices across the country, at our clinic in Tiverton we hope to fill the gap and to serve those in need. Most patients visit us at the clinic but in certain circumstances home visits can be arranged. We are here to help.

Donna is highly trained in microsuction, irrigation and the use of manual tools to safely and effectively remove ear wax.

We recommend to oil the ears 5-7 days prior to the treatment. Upon arrival an official consultation will take place and the appropriate method will be used to safely remove your ear wax.

Please note that a consultation fee will still be incurred should the official consultation deem it inappropriate to work on the ears.

Professional ear care

You should never, under any circumstances, put anything inside your ear canal — including cotton buds. Doing this can not only damage your eardrum, but it can encourage your ears to make more ear wax. It can also push the earwax deeper into the canal and cause impaction.

Every appointment is tailored to you, depending on your medical history, previous experience of ear wax removal and position of ear wax in the ear canal. At each appointment a full ear assessment will be carried out. The most suitable ear wax removal procedure for your ear will be discussed with you, sometimes a combination approach may be required.

In most cases, earwax impaction isn’t dangerous and symptoms go away with treatment.

The price is £40 for 1 ear / £55 for 2 ears

For ear wax removal I do offer a home visiting service for those that are less mobile. There is a service charge on this between £15- £25, depending on location.
